Earlier today, someone from the site seoroundtable spotted that
Google accidently updated their webmaster guidelines, however these were
very quickly removed, as they were posted earlier than first planned.
However someone out there managed to post a picture of these
guidelines showing all of the changes, you are able to see these by
clicking here. Before you look at these, take note that this picture is quite small and you may find them hard to read.
From what was briefly spotted, some of the changes call out for more
spam specific methods along with more talk about using rich snippets but
without spamming them.
In conclusion to this it seems as though the team in charge of Google
webmasters have tried to simplify the main guidelines document but have
added more hyperlinks to more help documents which will explain the
guidelines in more detail, so you can fully understand what you are
reading.
I am not totally sure why Google have pulled them down or if this is 100% legit, but it seems as though it is as the source is very trustworthy.
