Some major ISPs in India like Airtel, BSNL (MTNL) are blocking BitTorrent sites like ThePirateBay, Torrent Reactor, Extra Torrent, Torrentz and others. Not everyone is experiencing this problem but they soon will. Apparently the movie “3″ starring Dhanush which also featured the hit song “Kolaveri Di” had filed cases in court against these sites for illegally distributing content that does not belong to the site admin’s, owners or users and the court ruled in favor of the film, hence blocking major torrent sites.

After this action was taken by the ISPs, Anonymous (The Global Hacker Group) who have hacked multiple government sites of different countries including US, hacked Indian Govt and SC/HC sites as well. Lets see what’s gonna happen next in all this but the future of torrent seems dark.

I don’t know why are they blocking Vimeo. Surely you can visit all these sites without any problems but when you start searching or click on internal links of these websites you will get the message on a blank page “Access to this site has been blocked as per court orders”. 

Is this the end of Piracy? End of BitTorrents? Maybe yes! But there might be alternatives in the future.
