The Google Disavow Tool
is probably one of the more talked about webmaster functions in the
past few months. New questions come up about it every day.
Martin
Macdonald asked Google's Matt Cutts on Twitter if Google had "any
plans to allow wildcard disavows" like they do for the robots.txt
protocol? Matt Cutts responded, "not that I know of," which means they
are not in the plans.
Here is the tweet:
.@mattcutts any plans to allow wildcard disavows? Along the lines of robots exclusion would be great..
@searchmartin not that I know of. Most people need to use the domain: operator more though.
I assume as time goes on, more and more advanced functionality
will come to the tool. But right now, Google has said, they want you
to use the disavow tool like you would a machete.
